He was baptized on June 19, 1918, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Tecumseh, NE. and confirmed on Mar. 25, 1934, at St. Paul (Stutheit) Lutheran Church rural in Auburn, Nebraska.
He attended school at St. Peter's Lutheran Church at Elk Creek, Nebr. Later, he and his wife lived on the home place of his parents. He was married on June 12, 1941, at St. James Lutheran Church, in rural Humboldt, Nemaha County, Nebraska, to Edna Bertha Emilie Volker. They had 2 children, Delta Frieda Caroline Goos and Roger Frederich Goos.
He entered the Army in February of 1941 and for health reasons was honorably discharged in March of 1941.
Fred farmed the family farm. including a dairy operations for six years. He belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church in Auburn, NE. and was also a member of the Four States Coon Huntiners Associating, and served as President for that organization. He raised great coon dogs.
He passed away at the St. Elizabeths Regional Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 85 years, 5 months and 12 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Arthur, Theodore, Wilbert and Herbert; and tow infant great grandchildren.
Surviving were his wife, Edna, daughter and son in law Delta and Robert Boden; son and daughter in law, Roger and Sondra Goo; 9 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sisters, Josephine Schmiegelow of Little Rock, AR., Olga and husband Clifford Hantak, Cleveland, OH., Adeline and husband Melvin Kuhlmann, McCook, Nebr., Bernita Heidzig of Auburn; brother, Walter and wife Joy Goos of Holdrege, NE.
Services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Auburn, Ne. Burial followed at Trinity (Stutheit) Cemetery with graveside military honors provided.
