Mary Ann Michael, 59, of Mannington, passed away Wednesday (Sept. 3, 2008) at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 25, 1949, in Mobley (Wetzel County), a daughter of the late Francis Joseph and Gladys Irene Powell Fisher. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Luther Dell Michael; children, Edward Michael of Philadelphia, Pa., William "Mike" Michael of Mannington, Joseph Riggs and wife Sandy of Elizabeth City, N.C., Patricia Armentrout and husband Tim of Harrisonburg, Va.; eight grandchildren, Kelcie Opyoke, Glen Armentrout, Joshua and William Riggs, Donna Michael and William, Trevor and Justin Michael; and one brother, Gary Francis Fisher of Smithfield. Mary was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was a loving wife and best friend to her husband Luther. She devoted her life to taking care of her husband and family. She was a member of the Joe's Run Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steven Wayne Michael; and sister, Luella Riggs.Friends may call at the Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. today. She will then lie in state at the Joe's Run Church of Christ from noon-1 p.m. today. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Evangelist Ron Allan officiating. Burial will follow at the Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
