OBITUARY

Ervin M. McHatton, died Tuesday, April 7th at his home in Castle Hill after an illness of several months duration.

Mr. McHatton entered the Presque Isle General Hospital December 26, 1929 where he submitted to an operation but received no help, again in October he entered a hospital in Boston where he received help for his old trouble but his condition through the following summer proved to much on his system. Through his long illness he bore his suffering with much patience and great fortitude.

He was born in Ashland, Maine, November 7, 1876 which made him 54 years and 5 months at the time of his death. He was the oldest son of the late Nancy Porter and Robert McHatton and with his parents moved to Castle Hill when at the age of two years where he has since resided.

April 13, 1904 he married Maggie Littlefield to them were born nine children, two dying in infancy and a little daughter Helen died at the age of four years besided his wife he is survived by the following children: R. Milford, Wilford E., Clifford L., Clarice I now Mrs. Donald Easler, Lola M. and Lynwood L. all of Castle Hill also two brothers and one sister Herbert of Castle Hill, Cora Doyen and Norman of Mapleton.

Mr. McHatton was a farmer of which he took great interest and he will always be remembered for his many good qualities his kindly disposition ever ready to help in time of trouble, thinking first of others he was liberal in his religious views believing that one should worship God according to the dictates of his own conscience. His presence will be sadly missed, not only by his family but in the community of which he has been a part.

Funeral services were held at his home Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, Rev. Fred Flewelling officiating.

Herbert Thompson, Marley Dow furnished two appropriate selections.

There was a great profusion of beautiful floral tributes from family and his many friends in town which bore silent testimony of the deep friendship and high regard in which he was held by all. The pall bearers were Charles Chandler, Ellwood Kennedy, Guilford Smith and Clinton Porter the interment was made in Castle Hill Cemetery.

We wish to extend our heart felt thanks to the many friends who so kindly helped during sickness and death of our beloved husband and father and brother, also for the many floral tributes, the singers and pall bearers.
