Major Armstrong dies

Maj. George F. Armstrong, 42, assistant operations officer for 88th Flying Training Squadron, died Monday at Sheppard Regional Hospital.

He is survived by his wife Rita, two daughters, Ellen and Jill, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Armstrong of Barrington, Ill.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m., today in Chapel 2.

A native of Chicago, Ill., Major Armstrong was graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1959 He was assigned to Sheppard in July 1975.
