Former Citizen Dies in Arkansas
Charles L. Calvin passed away March 30 at Rumley AR at the age of 77. He was laid to rest beside a brother, at Dennard, AR, who preceeded him in death 3 years before. Both were bachelors and homesteaded in AR 40 years. They fully adapted themselves to the state and continued their solitary life on the homestead according to their wish, regardless of old age.
Charles Calvin was a descendant of Franklin County pioneers and was born and reared in Pacific. His young manhood was devoted to bridge building on the old Colorado Railroad (now Rock Island). He was well known by many of the older residents of Franklin County.
One sister, Mrs. B. F. Martin, of Catawissa, survives him.
