Paul Francis Mungan, 69, passed away on August 26, 2008 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. A native of Philadelphia, Paul moved out west in 1967 to pursue his career in Forestry and Parks and Recreation. Paul is a veteran of the U.S. Army. For 36 years he was employed by the Parks and Recreation Depts. of Nevada and Colorado States, and Washoe County as a Park Planner, Outreach Recreation Planner and Ranger. Recently he worked as an Arborist at Rancho San Rafael. Paul was a member of the Native Plant Society and the Audobon Society. In his life, he was an accomplished athlete, a world traveler, avid hiker, bird watcher, plant identification enthusiast and handball player.

He is survived by his daughter, Mollie McFarland; younger brother, Gerald Mungan; son-in- law, Andrew McFarland; grandson, Declan McFarland and by many beloved friends.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 3 p.m. at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 1259 St. Alberts Drive, Reno to be followed by a reception at the Ranch House at Rancho San Rafael Park. Private inurnment will take place at Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made payable to: May Arboretum, 1595 N. Sierra St., Reno, NV 89503, Attn: Bill Carlos.
