Mr. Robert Malabar "Bobby" Dixon, 45, of Girard died at his residence Monday, May 2, 2005.

Mr. Dixon was born July 31, 1959 in Millen, Ga., to James "Jimmy" Malabar Dixon and Joanne Murray Dixon and was a lifelong resident of Burke County. He was a 1977 graduate of Edmund Burke Academy, a farmer and a member of the East Central Georgia Conservation and Tillage Association. He was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church where he was a deacon.

Mr. Dixon is survived by his parents, three children, Justin M. Dixon, James A. Dixon and Alyssa Dixon, all three of Girard; a sister, Joni Fitzgerald of Dallas, Ga.; a brother, Rick Dixon of Alexandria, Va., and Ester R. Dixon, the mother of his children of Sardis.

The following gentlemen have been kindly asked to be active pallbearers: Stan Hillis, Jon-athan Hillis, Clinton Roberts, F. A. Black Jr., Charles Reed, Jay Arnett, Brad Poole and Frankie Parker with the following gentlemen being kindly asked to serve as honorary pallbearers: Norman Elliott Sr., Norman Elliott Jr., Rich Elliott, Grady Mobley, Bubba Westbrook, Jud Mobley, Jeff Ferguson, Johnny McBride, Walter Degenhardt, Martha Wynne, John Thomas Wynne, Brett Merrill, Daniel McCary, Robert Thompson, Marshall Thigpen and Charles Hight.
