Mrs. Hale was born at Lyons, April 8, 1912, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Englebright. Her mother died when she was eleven months old. She and her twin sister, Mildred, were adopted by Israel Doolittle, a widower, who reared them with the aid of several mature daughters who lived at home. She grew to womanhood in the Lyons community and was graduated from Lyons High School in 1930.
On February 7, 1934, she married Harold Hale at Tekamah. One daughter was born to them. They made their home on a farm in the Blackbird community for the next 12 years, after which they moved to Decatur, where they have resided since.
Mrs. Hale was a member of Orpah Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and Decatur Methodist Church. She was baptized and received into membership in the Lyons Presbyterian Church as a girl. After her marriage she transferred her membership to Decatur Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her foster father; foster sisters, Nettie, Lila and Mame Doolittle; foster brothers, Fred, Ed and Louis Doolittle, and half sister, Wilma Getzmler.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Dave (Jane) Farber; grandchildren, Patti and Mike Farber; her twin sister, Mrs. Willard Drummond, and two brothers, Gus Englebright of Thule, Greenland, and Alfred Englebright of Honolulu, Hawaii.
Other survivors are two half-sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Hansen of Sioux City, and Marcia Heineman of Dakota City; two aunts, Mrs. Ernest Pearson of Walthill and Mrs. Boyda Carlson of Fremont; nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Concluding services were held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Decatur.
