Mrs. Ruth Johnson Dies at Illiopolis
Mrs. Ruth Rather Johnson, 58, of Illiopolis, died there suddenly at 3:30pm Tuesday. Mrs. Johnson, a life-time resident of Illiopolis, was a daughter of Joseph F and Anna Stolling Rager.
She leaves a son, Elmer Lee, Bourbonnais; a daughter, Miss Lucille Rager; a sister, Mrs. Nettie Allison, Illiopolis.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday at the Pritchett Funeral Home, Illiopolis. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Illiopolis.

Ruth was listed as Ruth Rager on the 1920 and 1930 census of Illiopolis, IL, as single. On the 1930 census, two children, Elmer (age 11) and Eva (age 3), were listed as son and daughter. Ruth was living in her parents' home on both census.
