Born to Alvie Knox Beall (1872-1957) & Maria Harriet Lilly Girling Beall (1878-1926), who married in 1900 in Pike County, Mississippi. The Beall family moved to Bogalusa, LA, by 1910 and Alvie and his sisters grew up there.

He served in the US Navy in World War I and married Myrtle E. Parham (1904-1988) of Chatooga County, GA, on April 16, 1929, in Chattanooga, TN. In 1930, they were living with her parents, John G. & Exa C. Parham, in Chattanooga, Hamilton County, TN.

Alvie & Myrtle lived at 1710 E. 14th St. in Chattanooga for over 30 years. He was a machinist with Carley Manufacturing Co. Alvie died at age 50 of multiple sclerosis.
