Slight Cold Quickly Develops Into Fatal Illness
Funeral Service at Residence This Afternoon—Body Will Be Shipped to St. Louis
Richard Fenby, former auditor of the Texas & Pacific Railroad, died at his home, 2605 Maple avenue, yesterday afternoon. Mr. Fenby spent the summer at Harbor Point, Mich., and returned home two weeks ago with a slight cold, which later developed into pneumonia, causing his death. Funeral service will be held at the residence at 4 o'clock this afternoon, the Rev. W. M. Anderson, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. The body will be taken to St. Louis for burial, the funeral party leaving Dallas this evening. The active pallbearers will be A. G. Wood, Robert Ralston, R. E. Williams, C. R. Buddy, Price Cross and H. C. Bramley. The honorary pallbearers will be L. M. Dabney, Hugo W. Schoellkopf, Captain J. P. Murphy, Edward A. Belsterling, W. H. Abrams, E. O. Tenison, J. C. Duke, L. A. Pires, C. C. Cobb, J. W. Everman, L. S. Thorne, G. B. Dealey. M. M. Mayfield, W. B. Robinson, C. L. Kribbs, Dr. H. L. McLaurin and T. L. Wood. Mr. Fenby, who was 70 years old, began his career as a railroad man in St. Louis. After holding various positions with the Missouri Pacific Railroad in St. Louis he became associate auditor of the Houston & Texas Central road, with headquarters at Houston, more than thirty years ago. A year after going to Houston he accepted the position of auditor with the Texas & Pacific at Dallas. He held this position up to two years ago, when he resigned. Mr. Fenby never married. He was a member of the Dallas Club and the Dallas Country Club, and was prominent in social circles of the State. He is survived by four sisters, Misses Ella and Sallie Fenby of St. Louis, Miss Agnes Fenby of Dallas, and Mrs. Bausman of Minneapolis, Minn.
