Mrs. Julia H. Fredanberg, widow of Rev. G. J. DuBois, for many years a member of this Conference (but who died some fifteen years since) died at her home in Canisteo, New York, Friday, August 23, 1895, in the sixty-sixth year of her age. The deceased was born in Saratoga, New York, September 12, 1829, and was married to Rev. G. J. DuBois in New Hudson, New York, on the 11th of February, 1849. She was the mother of eight children, four daughters and four sons. One son, F. W. DuBois, died April 16, 1894. The other children are: Mrs. H. H. Denesmore of Springwater, Miss Ella DuBois and Mrs. Harrison Crane of Canisteo, New York, Mrs. T. J. Wagstaff and G. W. DuBois of Pulteney, New York, F. F. DuBois of Sonora, New York, and E. S. DuBois of Rochester, New York. Sister DuBois was converted early in life and became a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
For over thirty years she was the faithful companion of her husband in the itinerate work of a Methodist preacher. They often lived on a small salary with their large family and were devoted to God. "Her children, rise up and call her blessed."
