During the early years of their marriage, Rose and Edward lived with her mother, Annie, who ran a boarding house in St. Louis. He was a foreman at a foundry. They later moved back to Calhoun County, Illinois where he worked as a laborer.
Rose and Edward were the parents of 3 children, but all died in infancy or very early childhood.
At the time of her death, Rose was 87 years, 6 months and 2 days old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, who passed away in 1939.
Rose was buried next to several members of the Bach family.
