Mrs. Lawler was active in the women's organizations of First Presbyterian Church. She also was a member of the Kings Daughters, DAR, Women's Club and the Springfield Art Club.
Her great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Marshall established the first bank and the First Presbyterian Church in Illinois at Shawneetown, about 1813. Her grandfather, Henry Eddy, established the second newspaper in Illinois and was a lawyer and traveled the legal circuit with Abraham Lincoln.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. George (Myra) Wiederhold and one brother, George Eddy, both of Shawneetown.
Services at the Smith Funeral Chapel. Burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
