Services for James Cordell were today at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, East, with the Rev. Billy Joe Smith officiating.
Burial will be at National Cemetery.
Mr. Cordell died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was 77.
He was retired from the U.S. Army after serving for 31 years in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Moore Cordell; daughter Pat Cordell, Chattanooga; son, Tom Cordell, Atlanta, Ga., five brothers, Ernest. H. Cordell, Nashville, William Glenn Cordell, Albuquerque, N.M., Carl L. Cordell, Chelsea, Mich., Leslie Howard Cordell, Lincoln, Neb., and George L. Cordell, Chattanooga; sister, Ruth Owens, Jackson, Miss.; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
