After Anthony's death during the war, Catherine was left with 5 young children. It was not long afterward that she married her 2nd husband, George Valentine on Oct. 26, 1865 in Muskingum Co., OH. They moved to IL where she died five years later, her oldest child only fifteen years of age.

NOTE: Looking at recently posted photo of headstone and research of name on stone there are no records of a Anthony Garnner in Ohio service as SGT. Company F 26th OHIO INF. Union, CIVIL WAR
, so this must have been an error on stone maker and/or record keeping at cemetery
