Vivian Minnie Lula [Mayfield] Brown was the maternal granddaughter of Sarah [Taylor] and Zera Oldham, both of Vaden, Carroll County Mississippi. Minnie, as she was known in life, was the paternal granddaughter of Jane Ellen [Young] of Pickens County South Carolina and Pearson Joseph Mayfield of Anderson County North Carolina. Minnie was born in Grandview, Johnson County Texas. Minnie married John Riley Brown of Hico Texas and her older brother Sam Mayfield married John Riley's sister Malvina Clarissa Brown, also of Hico. Minnie and Riley made their home in Chalk Mountain Texas and they rest in the Chalk Mountain Cemetery along with their daughters. Minnie [Mayfield] Brown is the only child of Iantha [Oldham] and John Baylis Mayfield who is not buried in the Clairette Texas cemetery.
