RICHARD DAVID BOELK Entered peacefully into rest in Hayward, CA on January 30, 2004. He was 75 years old. A native of Wisconsin who was born on August 21, 1928, Richard worked for the General Converting Company for 20 years. A member of the American Legion, Richard served in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. In addition, he belonged to the Bartender's Union and Graphics Artist's Union. He enjoyed playing golf, watching his favorite TV shows, traveling, and just being with family and friends. His great sense of humor will be truly missed. Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Gloria; his loving children and their spouses, Jennifer Palmieri and Susan Boelk, both of Fair Oaks, April Boelk of San Leandro, and Heather and Dave Harrold of Orangeville; and his brothers and sisters, James of Truckee, Montie Ann and Bill Havel of Michigan, Roger Boelk of Wisconsin, and Nancy Osborne of Chicago. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Seth, Katie, Dan, and Anna, and numerous nephews, nieces, and extended family members. Visitation for Richard will be held on Sunday from noon to 5:00 pm at Grissom's Chapel/Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo. A vigil service will be held on Sunday at 3:00 pm at the mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Monday at 9:00 am at St. Felicitas Catholic Church, 1604 Manor Blvd., San Leandro. Burial will take place at the Sierra Mountain Cemetery in Truckee, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the American Cancer Society or M.I.N.D. Insititue, c/o U.C. Davis.
