"Jo Hanselman" was born aboard ship in the Atlantic Ocean during his parents migration from Germany. His father William Hanselman died in Marysville, St. Clare, Mi. of wounds received during the civil war, Pvt. 4th Regiment, Michigan Cavalry, Company F. After his death, Anna married Richard Marx on Feb 1, 1864 in Adrian, Lenawee, Mi. Richard Marx then adopted Jo Hanselman, thus Jo Hanselman became William Richard Marx. William married Mary Lazsky Jan 22, 1888 in Detroit Michigan. After his death his son Charles was born Sept. 29, 1891.
