Eleanor M. Shell, 79, of Troy and formerly of Christiansburg, passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2003 in her home. She was born in Xenia on Sept. 22, 1923, a daughter of the late Raymond O. and Mary Catherine Turner Copsey.

Mrs. Shell was a 1941 graduate of Christiansburg-Jackson High School, St. Paris, and retired in 1985 from Arc Abrasives, Troy. She was a member of the Christiansburg United Methodist Church and also a member of Olivet Chapter No. 538 Order of Eastern Star, Christiansburg.

Survivors include two daughters, Jody and Gary Stephens of Cincinnati and Linda and Doug Ray of Troy; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Joseph W. Shell, whom she married July 17, 1942. He passed away Sept. 26, 1988; one son, Jimmy Charles Shell; one sister, Virginia Campbell; and one brother, Charles Edward Copsey.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, Jan. 25 in the Christiansburg United Methodist Church, on the corner of Third and Monroe streets with the Rev. Douglas Flinn officiating. Burial will take place in Upper Honey Creek Cemetery near Christiansburg.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 407, Christiansburg, OH 45389.
