Joyce L. (Smith) DelBonis Schmutzler, 76, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at home after a period of failing health.
Born Oct. 28, 1931, in Providence, R.I., she was the daughter of Dorothy (Roberts) and Frederick Smith.
She was a graduate of Cranston High School and worked for the Bell telephone system in Providence and in Los Angeles.
She was the wife of the late Alfred DelBonis and the late Kurt Schmutzler.
She enjoyed her family, crafting, travel, reading, the shore and clamming. She was a lifelong member of the Washington Park United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by two daughters, Paula DelBonis-Platt and her husband, William Platt, of Contoocook, and Pamela Garabedian and her husband, Jeffrey, of Coventry, R.I.; two stepsons, Richard Schmutzler and his wife, Christine, of Farmingville, N.Y., and Ronald Schmutzler and his wife, Jean, of Levittown, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren, including Nathaniel and William Platt of Contoocook; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, David Smith and his wife, Joyce, of Swansea, Mass.
