Donald Curtis "Buck" Alm, 67, died on Monday, Sept. 8, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.

Donald was born on Nov. 21, 1940 in Pine City to William and Norma (Olson) Alm. In 1958, he graduated from Hinckley High School. He was a Sergeant, E-5 in the National Guard for six years and a long-time member of the Pine County Mounted Patrol.

Don was a farmer and a carpenter. He also worked several years for Bork Tree Farm and many years at the Hinckley Transfer Station for Olson Carriers. He was a valued and constant help on his brother's (Ron and Cyndi's) farm for many years. Don was a member of the Jim Jordan Chapter of the Minnesota Deer Hunter's Association since its inception. He will be deeply missed also as the neighborhood "road patrol." He loved to hunt, play cards and just visit with people. His sense of humor and teasing was well known by all. He enjoyed many good times with the boys at the hunting shack and was a very kind soul with a big heart.

Don is preceded in death by his parents William and Norma.
