Virdie B. Barnes- Mrs. Virdie Bell Barnes, 409 N. Stockton, died early Friday in an Ada hospital. She had been in failing health about a year. Mrs. Barnes was 65. Service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Criswell chapel. Mrs. Barnes was born in Featherston, Okla. Aug 29, 1904, daughter of Abe Heady and Sarah Cornelison Heady. She married Walter Lee Barnes in McAlester, on Sep. 19, 1921. They came to Ada from Crowder, Okla. in 1927. Mrs. Barnes was a Baptist. Surviving are her husband, W.L. Barnes of the home; four sons, Virgil, Elmer, and Ray, all of Ada, and Bill, Canon City, Colo.; two daughters, Cleo McLish, Ada, and Lois Wilson, Salinas, Calif.; 20 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; and one sister, Ethel Minton, Granbury, Texas. Jerry Roles, Charles Barnes, Keith Barnes, Buddy Lewis, G.T. Sires, and Richard McLish will be casket bearers. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
