HEFTER, Jacob Alan Also known as Jake and Jake the Snake, 18 years, of Palmdale, was tragically taken from us on Friday, September 12, 2008, in a horrific accident involving a train ride home from Long Beach. Born July 6, 1990, in Lancaster, Calif., to Alan and Angela Hefter. A graduate of Palmdale High School class of 2008, he was attending Cal State University Long Beach to pursue a degree in Kinesiology. A model student, he was a valedictorian of his class, and a member of the PHS Varsity Golf Team. Jacob was a 4 year member of the Health Careers Academy where he excelled in all things, from Sports Medicine to EMT training. He was recognized as an outstanding HOSA member in the state of California. He won medals and accolades as a competitor with HOSA and was a model community volunteer. He would be willing to try anything once, and rarely wasted energy on being angry. Jacob was preceded in death by an older brother Justin, Grandpa Bob, Grandpa Cece, and Grandma Jo. He is survived by his parents Alan and Angela Hefter of Palmdale, his older brothers, Jared and Jordan, both of Palmdale. He is also sur-

vived by grandparents John W. and Joan Hefter of Wenatchee, Wash. Jacob has numerous family members who will keep his memory alive: Craig and Linda Whitehill of Carson City, Nev., David and Charlene Farrell of Lancaster, cousins, David, Devin, Carollyne, of Lancaster, Brad Hefter and Virginia Ramey of Lancaster, cousin Lindsey and husband Josh Stamsek, and cousins Reyah, and Haley all of Lancaster, Kenny and Carla Skirvin of Palmdale, and cousins Katie and Cody also of Palmdale, Emmett and Debra Farrell of Tukwila, Wash., cousins SGT. Jacob was also loved by Stephanie Gutierrez of Palmdale, and the extended family of Mike and Katie of Palmdale, and their children, Nick, Shane, and Shaun, all of Palmdale. He also left behind two dogs, Petey and Princess. Jacobs torch will also be carried in the hearts of numerous other cousins, uncles, aunts, friends, relatives, teachers and students for years to come. Whether its AC/DC or Guitar Hero, Ping-Pong or Carpinteria, Chipolte, Cinnamon Toast Crunch or apple pie, Golf tees or BINGO, Jacob will be thought of and remembered by countless people. Service details, interment, and donation request information can all be found on this website dedicated to Jacob, www.PHSFalcons.org and follow link instructions. We wish to thank the many people who have come together this last week to show their support, and all of the people who made Jacob the incredible person he became. Rock On.
