Jesse W. Cable, 84, Cerro Gordo, died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the home of his son, Amos, in Cerro Gordo. He had been in ill health the last six months.
Mr. Cable, a retired carpenter, had worked in and around Decatur several years. He had lived with his son the last eight years.
Mr. Cable was a member of the German Baptist Church in Cerro Gordo.
He was born March 4, 1874, in Pleasant Mound, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Cable. He was married to Mariah Stalder. She died Oct. 12, 1911.
He leaves, two sons, Abie, Oakley; Airos, Cerro Gordo; one stepson, Noah Stalder, Cerro Gordo; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Mary Miller, Diermont, IN; one brother, John Cable, Scotville, MI; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the German Baptist Church, Cerro The Gordo. Burial will be in the Cerro Gordo Cemetery. Friends may call at the Freese Funeral Home in Cerro Gordo after 6 p.m. today.
