Mrs. Appelgate Dies Early This Morning

Mrs. R.O. Appelgate died at 1 o'clock this morning in a Corvallis hospital where she was brought recently for medical attention.

Born in Goldendale, Washington, January 23, 1893, Mrs. Appelgate was Emma Viola Hamilton. She was married at Goldendale July 14, 1914, after attending school there, to O. Roy Appelgate and the couple resided in Linn county, east of Corvallis, for 31 years.

Mrs. Appelgate had been a life-long member of the Christian church and for more than 25 years was a member of the Western Star Grange.

She is survived by her husband, O. Roy Appelgate; two sons, James R., of Corvallis, and Ralph C., with the United States army; her mother, Mrs. Alex Hamilton, 89, of Goldendale, Washington; three sisters, Mrs. Tena Jobe, Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. Minnie Watson and Mrs. Carl Crooks, Goldendale; three brothers, Orville L. Hamilton, Goldendale; James, of Sunnyside, Washington, and Walter, of Waitsburg. There are four grandchildren.

The funeral service will be from the Fisher Funeral Home in Albany Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
