CHARLES W. PHARES

Charles W. Phares, 90, RFD 5, died at 12:30 a.m. today in Porter Memorial hospital.

Born Oct. 24, 1876, in Liberty township, he was the son of Samuel M. and Narcissa C. (Beam) Phares.

In 1906 in Valparaiso, he married Pearl A. Dillingham, who preceded him in death.

Phares lived all his life on a farm in Liberty township. A farmer, he served as a mail carrier from 1904 to 1925, and a Liberty township trustee from 1943 to 1951.

Surviving are three sons, Marvin, Zane and Bruce, all of Valparaiso; one daughter, Mrs. Maxine Elizabeth Pattee, Gary; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Milton, and one brother Floyd.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Bartholomew Funeral home, with the Rev. Darrell Parker officiating. Burial will be in Kimball cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.
