Adam Perry Phares

Adam Perry Phares, a life-long and highly respected citizen of Liberty township, passed away at the family home, February 26, 1921. He was a son of Martin and Maria Phares, born August 1, 1850, and had reached the age of 70 years, six months and 26 days. He was united in marriage, December 25, 1876, to Laura L. Yost. One son, Dallas E., was born to them. Two brothers, S. M. Phares of Liberty township and Prof. M. L. Phares of Bridgeport, Neb., and one sister, Mrs. Lydia M. Doyle of Jackson Center survive him. The funeral services were held at the late home at 2 o'clock Tuesday, March 1st, conducted by Rev. Brown, pastor of the Valparaiso Christian church, and the remains were laid to rest in the family burial plot in the Kimball cemetery. The funeral was largely attended by many old time friends and relatives. Relatives from a distance were Mrs. Jennie Harris, F. J. Holland and Earl S. Friday of Michigan City.
