He had been a Bookkeeper in Tacoma, going from there to Yakima where he operated an orchard, finally moving to this farm where he died from this accident.

Married Augusta Ida "Gussie" Bottemiller, October 23, 1907 Portland, Oregon, had son named Richard Joseph.

He was killed while burning brush and clearing land, struck down by falling snag and burned.
