Ruth Ann O'Toole, 87, of Natrona Heights, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Allegheny Valley Hospital, Harrison Township. She was born Feb. 18, 1921, in Kentucky, daughter of the late George Thompson and Myrtle Thompson. She was born and raised in Kentucky and had lived in Pennsylvania since 1946. Ruth was the owner and operator for 40 years of Ruth's Beauty Shop on Neely Street, Natrona Heights. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish, St. Mathias Church, Natrona. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, television, trips to Atlantic City, Mountaineer Casino, Wheeling, W.Va., and the daily lottery. Ruth is survived by her siblings, George Thompson, Dorothy Elkins, Thomas (Diana) Thompson, and Bobby (Christina) Thompson, all of Michigan; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband, John Hranica, who died in 1971; second husband, Charles B. O'Toole, who died in 1999; two brothers, Charles and Billy Thompson; and two sisters, June Izzo and Kathleen Bevins. Relatives and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at DUSTER FUNERAL HOME, Tarentum, Pa., where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Thomas A. Wagner. Burial will be held in O'Toole's family mausoleum, Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
