Marion C. Novak, age 82 of Huron Bay, Michigan, passed away August 16, 2004 at her home.

She was born April 6, 1922 in Chicago, IL, daughter to the late John and Kathryn (Mack) Nichols. Marion grew up in Chicago and graduated from Englewood High School in 1939.

She married John Novak on January 31, 1948 in Chicago. Marion worked for Hallicrafter Communications doing inventory control during the war and up until 1965 when they moved to Huron Bay. She then worked as a secretary for a local saw mill in 1987 when she retired.

Marion was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in L'Anse and Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Parish in Zeba, and the Happy 12 Pinochle Club. She was the treasurer for the Arvon Twp. Fire Dept. for 35 years. Marion enjoyed flowers, gardening, arts and crafts, playing pinochle, and loved animals.

Surviving were her husband John "Jack" Novak of Huron Bay, sister Marge (Bob) Lawless of Florida, sister-in-law Dorothy Nichols of Calumet City, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her brothers William and Edward Nichols, and sister Helen Spoo.

Funeral: Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in L'Anse. Fr. Chacko officiated.
