Died, at 4:30 o'clock Thursday morning, Feb. 14, 1907, at St. John's hospital, after two weeks' illness of pneumonia, Thomas Edward Smith, aged 35 years, 7 months and 18 days. The funeral will be held at the family residence Saturday morning. The interment will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery.

The decedent was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. William Smith, and a grandson of John Smith, who came to Illinois from Kentucky in the early days. Mr. Smith was married to Miss Maude Rourke in the fall of 1893. He made his home in this community nearly all his life, having been born in Curran township.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maude Smith, and six children, Leo, Edith, Joseph, Helen, Agnes and Frances, all living at home. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. W. A. Kirkpatrick, of Carthage and five brothers, Richard P. Smith, supervisor of Springfield township; John D. Smith of this city, William J. Smith of Woodside, Joseph F. Smith, supervisor of Auburn township, and H. N. Smith of Hugoton, Kansas. Another sister of the decedent, Mrs. William E. Waite of this city, died two years ago.

Mr. Smith was a member of the teamsters' union and also of Modern Woodmen camp No. 92.
