James son Ebenezer, was married to a lady Minta Lenora Blackwelder. Minta had a sister, Maria Louisa Blackwelder, who married James Eli Griffith in 1885, after James first wife Mary died (1825-1884). So basically Ebenezer's sister in law, eventually became his step-mother. After the death of James Griffith, Maria married a Jesse Owens (1902). Therefore James became his son's , brother n law too. And his sister n law became his step mother, his wife's sister Maria became her stepmother,. And Ebenezer's wife became his step sister.
