Mrs. Sam (Eunice V.) Hawthorne, 76, died August 23 in her home here.
She was born on January 15, 1913 at Central City to Henry and Bessie (Shively) Good. She was reared in the Central City area and was a 1931 graduate of Central City High School. She was married to Mr. Hawthorne at Central City where they continued to live until their retirement in 1971 when they moved to Fullerton. She was a 15-year employee of Dale Electronics at Columbus and also was employed by Clara's Cafe and Bridger's Cafe here.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Methodist Women's Circle.

Surviving besides her husband are three sons, Richard Hawthorne of Kansas City, Missouri, Ronald Hawthorne of St. Libory and Robert Hawthorne of Columbus; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Sharon) Dubney of Ceres, California, and Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Cattau of Creston; two brothers, Eldon Good of Pamona, California, and Merle Good of Central City; five sisters, Mrs. Frankie Garrett of Central City, Mrs. Crystal Hawthorne of Lincoln, Mrs. Ivilla Hawthorne and Mrs. Orpha Hawthorne of Fullerton and Mrs. Honor Beavers of Vancouver, Canada; 21 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lane Good, and a sister, Mrs. Pat Hagar.

Funeral services were conducted here August 26 in the United Methodist Church by Rev. Bonnie Gilmer, pastor. Burial was in the Pierce Chapel Cemetery near Clarks.
