William G. Harshbarger, age 74, of Mill Road, Duncansville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born February 8, 1934 in Altoona, he was a son of the late John L. and Alda F. (Stiffler) Harshbarger.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; three children: Ann Marie Lew of Columbia, MD, Amy Lynn and Jack Harshbarger, both of Duncansville; three step children: Becky Wood of Philipsburg, Robin Hammond of Duncansville and Ron Wilt, Jr. of Camp Hill; nine grandchildren; and a brother Robert Gene of Albuquerque, NM.

He was an Army veteran. He was a member of Portage Lodge No. 220, F & AM, the Scottish Rite Consistory, the Jaffa Shrine, the Hillbilly Clan #74, Chief Logan Forest Tall Cedars of Lebanon, the Hollidaysburg Lions Club, and a member and past president for eleven consecutive years of the Hollidaysburg Sportsman Association. He attended the Berean Baptist Church in Duncansville.

Mr. Harshbarger worked at SKF Industries in Altoona and owned and retired in 2000 from Harshbarger Lawn and Garden in Duncansville.

Friends will be received on Thursday, September 25, 2008 from 6-9pm at the Liebegott-Brown Funeral Home, 1218 4th Ave., Duncansville. Funeral service with military honors will be held on Friday, September 26 at 11am at the Berean Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Barry Fry. Interment at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Berean Baptist Church, Missionary Fund, 800 Kuhn Ln., Duncansville, PA 16635
and/or Aseracare, 1015 Logan Blvd., Altoona,
