Retired; born in Poland on Mar 28, 1874; son of Stanislaus Badura and Johanna Ugorek; educated in parochial schools in Chicago, Illinois; married Elenora Badura on April 22, 1890 in Chicago (wife deceased Nov 27, 1910); siblings were Stanley E, Peter I, Frank A; d Johanna (Mrs I J Kalkowski, (dec), Frances (Mrs Anton Stobbe), Mary, Anna (dec), Josie (dec), Anthony (Mrs Stanley Maiefski); 1866 at close of Civil War was brought to USA by parents who located in Chicago; In 1892 he came to Ashton, where he worked with his father in general merc store; 1918-39, since his father's death he was owner & opr store; 1939- ret; with Ashton State Bank since its origin in 1908, he was president & chief stockholder; 1897-1901 he was Sherman County treasurer; past member twp bd, city council & sch bd; St Francis Cath Ch; in 1879 his father came to Nebraska, located on Sherman & Howard County line near Paplin Church, 5 miles NE of present site of Ashton, farmed & operated Badura store, moved store to Ashton 1887; resident of Ashton.
