She was born Aug. 4, 1923, in North Andover, Mass., to Harold E. and Mabel (Brightman) Smith.
She graduated from Johnson High School in North Andover in 1941 and Burdett College in Boston.
She was employed for a time as a bookkeeper for Davis and Furber Machine Co.
She moved from Andover to Rye Harbor in 1987.
While living in Andover she was a member of Free Christian Church and was a member of Rye Congregational Church.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a member of Fidelity Chapter 90 O.E.S. of Haverhill, Mass., and enjoyed square dancing, bowling, tent camping and traveling.
Family members include her husband of 62 years, James T. Trenholm of Rye; a son, Gary E. Trenholm of Derry; a daughter, Joy T. Mills of North Andover, Mass.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Visiting hours are Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. An Eastern Star service and memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
