Mr. Hyde was born January 25, 1877, the son of the late Henry and Livina Hyde, at the farm home near Dunlap, Iowa. He was educated in Iowa and Nebraska schools and came here with his grandparents when he was 18 years of age.
In 1897 he was married to Theresa Meads, who died in 1909 and October 10, 1911 married Mrs. Nellie Marsh Phillips, who survives him. Born to the first marriage were two children, a daughter Mrs. Randall Miller of Sandwich and Kenneth of New York City, both, of whom survive the deceased.
His Masonic interests were Mr. Hyde's greatest work. He was a Master Mason, a member of the Sword of Bunker Hill and was in business in Earlville as a barber for more than 40 years. He was widely known and well liked and made many friends who have missed him since his illness took him out of public life.
In addition to his widow and children, Mr. Hyde is survived by three brothers, Compton of Earlville, Phylo of DeKalb and William of Eagle, Idaho, and one sister Mrs. George Davison of Lombard. All of whom were expected to be here for his services. Others included his daughter and other relatives of Sandwich, Lombard, Dekalb and Marengo. Mrs. Lyle Marsh, of Chicago, niece of Mrs. Hyde arrived Tuesday and will remain until Monday.
