Funeral services for Elthor Edgar Babel, 55, were held Saturday, October 20 at 4:00 p.m. from Emanuel's Lutheran Church following his death the preceding Tuesday.
Dr. E. J. Braulick conducted the services, and burial was in the Lone Oak Cemetery. The deceased had been ill for some time.
Survivors include the widow; two sons, Elthor, Jr. and Robert Lee; five daughters, Mrs. Monroe Grimm, Mrs. David Rauch, Mrs. David Grimm, Mrs. Emil Tschoepe, Jr. and Mrs. Marvin Erben; his mother, Mrs. Paulie Babel, and a sister, Mrs. Nathalie Harborth of New Braunfels. A daughter, Elaine, preceded her father in death.
Elthor Edgar Babel was born Nov. 15, 1896 in Comal County, and baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He attended the schools of Guadalupe County, and resided on a farm for most of his life. He was a veteran of World War II. One June 9, 1920, he married Miss Clara Jandt.
