He married on February 6, 1890 to Samantha Luella "Manta" Conley. He was listed in 1919 as an inmate of the Sumner County Infirmary (Poor Farm) in Wellington, KS with a disease listed as "Ulcer." He is probably buried in the Spring Hill Cemetery near the ORR farm, because there is a "J. H. ORR" listed as owner of a plot on an old cemetery map, but there is no stone for him.
