Crockett Rites Set Today at Local Chapel
Funeral services for Van David Crockett, 36, will be at 5 p.m. today in the Green-Kleinegger Chapel with the Rev. Irvin Roshto officiating. Burial will be in Minden Cemtery.
Mr. Crockett was killed Tuesday about 5:20 p.m. when he fell from his position on a switch engine and under the wheels of a freight car at the Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, a Korean War veteran and a former employee of the Gulf Oil Corp.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. J.C. Crockett; one sister, Mrs. Joe Parker of Minden, and two brothers, W.E. Crockett of Houston Tex., and S.T. Crockett of Glenview, Ill.
