John Henry Akers of RD 2. died at 9:30 a.m. yesterday in the Altoona Hospital, after an extended illness. He was born in Altoona on Dec. 12, 1887,a son of, Henry and Amanda (Stumph) Akers, and was united in marriage with Bessie Zinn in the Fourth Lutheran Church on July 1, 1914, by the Rev. Drawbaugh.

Surviving are his wife four children, Harrie E., Elwood L. and Joanne L., at home, and Mrs. Gladys Halbrilter of Canan Station; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a sister Mrs. Myrtle Varner of the city.

He was a member of the former Grace Lutheran Church and a
retired boilermaker of the P.R.R.

Friends may call at the Lafferty Funeral Home from 7 to 9
today.
