Frank J. Maciejewski was born in Stargard, Poland, February 25, 1858, coming to America at the age of 15 in the year of 1873 and settling in the state of West Virginia, later moving to Nebraska.

He was united in marriage to Louise Dymek, September 12, 1881, at the Posen Catholic church. The couple then moved to a farm situated six miles south of Ashton where they reared a large and fine family. They resided there forty-four years, and twenty-one years ago they retired and moved to a residence in Loup City. On September 12, 1931, the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

He was preceded in death by his wife on June 21, 1934, and three children, Locadia, April 7, 1940; Harry on February 20, 1943; and Rose, October 16, 1945.

Surviving children are: Honorata Haremza, Loup City; Clemens, Paul and Alex, Ashton; Ben and Edward, Loup City; and Steven, Blunt, So. Dak.; also, twenty grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at St. Josaphat church July 8, at 9 a. m., with Rev. Leonard Ziolkowski officiating. Interment was made in St. Francis cemetery at Ashton with Rev. A. Jarzemski conducting the committal services. Pallbearers were six grandsons: Leonard, Harold, Richard, LaVern, Roman and Stanley Maciejewski.
