BRIEF ILLNESS FATAL FOR MRS. PAWLOSKI

Mrs. Mike Pawloski, 71, a life long resident of Sherman County, died Saturday evening in a St. Paul hospital, where she had been seriously ill for a week.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning at 9:30 at St Anthony’s Catholic Church in Farwell. The Rev Joseph Hinzmann offered the Requiem high Mass. The church choir sang the mass.

Pallbears were Don Pawloski, and Victor Pawloski of Hastings, Dominic Pawloski of Farwell, Ronald Kalkowski of Grand Island, Norbert Kalkowski of Loup City, and Joseph Beran Jr. of Gibbon.

Burial was in St. Francis Cemetery in Ashton. Badura Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.

Josephine Kalkowski, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Joseph Kalkowski, was born Oct. 27th, 1881, on a farm five miles south of Ashton. She attended school and grew to womanhood on her fathers farm. In Sept., 1905, she married Joseph Pawloski, they made their home near Farwell. She was a member of the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and the Rosary Sodality. She had been in failing health since August 1950.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Harry of Farwell and Andrew of Coldwatre, Mich.; 9 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Alex and I. J. Kalkowski of Grand Island; and four sisters, Mrs. Pete Polski, and Mrs. Vernie Rapp of Grand Island, Mrs. Mary Calvin of Palmer, Mrs. Joe Beran of Loup City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mrs. Elenora Slizewski, Mrs. Anastasia Szalewski, and Helen Kalkowski; as well as by three brothers and two sisters who died in infancy.
