Clarence Issenmann was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Cincinnati, Ohio 29 Jun 1932. He was appointed Auxillary Bishop of Cincinnati, Ohio and Titular Bishop of Phytea 24 Mar 1954. He was ordained Titular Bishop of Phytea 25 Mar 1954. On 5 Dec 1957 he was appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Columbus, Ohio. On 7 Oct 1964 he was appointed Coadjutor Bishop of Cleveland, Ohio and Titular Bishop of Filaca and installed as Coadjutor Bishop of Cleveland, Ohio 2 Feb 1965. He succeeded as Bishop of Cleveland, Ohio 22 Sep 1966. He resigned as Bishop of Cleveland, Ohio 5 Jun 1974 and remained Bishop Emeritus of Cleveland, Ohio until his death. He served as a priest for 50 years, 28 of them as a bishop.
