Mrs. Ethel Morris, beloved wife of Mr. I C Morris, died at the family home just east of town, on Sunday evening, March 24th at 10 o'clock, after a lingering illness.
The funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock, at the Christian Church, Rev. W. D. Deatherage, assisted by Rev. E E Davidson, of Leslie, conducting the services. After the touching services at the church, the funeral cortege wound its way to the cemetery, where interment took place in the presence of a large cemetery, where interment took place in the presence of a large circle of sorrowing relatives and friends.
Mrs. Morris was a consistent member of the Christian Church.
All the care and love that skilled physicians and an anxious household could devise and apply for her comfort and assistance were brought into play, but the fiat of Him who rules our incomings and outgoings had been issued and after a brief struggle, despite the prayers and entreaties of all who knew and loved her, their appeals were overruled and before the morning of March 25th was kissed by the rising sun the sufferer's spirit took its flight to that home the Christian believes is the fulfillment of the life everlasting.
She ran the journey of life in 36 years. Mrs. Morris was 36 years and 2 days old. She is survived by her husband and three children, Johnnie, Mildred, and I C Jr., her mother, Mrs. Mary Jane Jackson, five sisters, Mrs. T. M. Gibson, Mrs. Sell Gibson, Mrs. A. F. Lindsey, Mrs. James A Sutterfield, and Mrs. W A Lindsey, and one brother, S T Jackson, all of Marshall, besides a number of other relatives and a large circle of friends.

Mildred Ethel Jackson was the daughter of George Washington Jackson and Mary Jane Treadwell. She was married to Isaac Cahal Morris on January 17, 1901 in Searcy, Arkansas.
