Son, Harmon Daniel Wright is buried at Gold Hill Cemetery.
Son, Samuel Joseph Wright is buried at Yuma, AZ. Samuel Joseph Wright (b. 17 May 1863, Find A Grave Memorial#: 92921347)
There are about 5 generations (if not more!) of Wright's buried here at Mountain View Cemetery.
Some time after the civil war "Danish Doctor" Samuel E. Wright with his wife and 9 boys (One of which was David Hunt Wright) left Amite (county?) Mississippi and moved to the New Mexico Territory between Silver City and Lordsburg New Mexico. They had the freightwagons "trains" that run from Silver City New Mexico to San Diego California on the Pacific Ocean. They bought land between San Diego and Los Angeles California as well as "cattle land" in New Mexico Territory. After the railroad was completed the freightwagons were no longer needed. They decided that the California property was just "sandy beach". Dr. Sam Wright stayed in California, and is buried there. His 9 sons stayed in New Mexico on the ranches. By then they had "cattle land"(grazing rights?) from Silver City to the old Mexico border. From Velma Wright Townsend.
(NOTE: I do not have 9 sons listed in my records, but I do have 9 children listed)
Lordsburg was GRANT COUNTY in 1912. Hidalgo County was established in 1919 from Grant County.
