LOUDONVILLE --- Joan B. Lemon, 73, formerly of Snyder Drive, died Tuesday afternoon, Apr. 30, 2002, in Colonial Manor Health Care Center after a long illness.

Joan was born Nov. 1, 1928 in Wadsworth, the daughter of the late John and Edith (Wilson) Hoag. She grew up in New London and later moved to Shreve where she draduated from Shreve High School in 1946.

On May 15, 1950 she married Junior Rex Lemon and they moved to Loudonville. Mr. Lemon died June 11, 1979.

Joan began her career in journalism in 1958 when she joined The Ashland Times-Gazette, and in 1964 also joined the staff of The Wooster Daily Record, wher whe worked as a reporter and photographer for both newspapers until 1988.

Joan became a training specialist with MARK PIC/TPA in Richland County in 1984, retiring in 1995. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Loudonville, and had served as secretary for Loudonville Chamber of Commerce.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Burgess of Columbus and Patty Lemon of Loudonville, and close friend, Nancy L. Wigton of Loudonville. She was preceded in death by an infant sister; her stepmother, Mildred Hoag Parshalt; her husband; and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday May 4, 2002 at 11 a.m. in Zion LUtheran Church, with the Rev. Terry E. Ruther officiating. Burial will be in Loudonville Cemetery.
