Mass on Christain Burial was at 10 am., Wednesday in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, with FR. Raymond Crosier, pastor officiating., Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Hass-Ferguson Funeral Directors.
John Devlin was born March 8, 1913 in Clayworks, Iowa, the son of Edward and Nellie Lewis Devlin. He married Pauline Cessnun, who preceded him in death in 1964. He married Ethel Lundvall in 1971. He was a brakeman on the Rock Island Railroad and served in WWII. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Two Sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
When a small boy, his folks noved to a farm northwest of Hale where John grew up.
He was a glider plane pilot while in the service.
John was a brother-in-law to Virgil Lundvall, Violet Knapp and Lillian Ebeler of Burlington.
