The angel of death has again entered the Deiter family circle, calling Charles V. Deiter to his reward.
His death was due to a fall from a 40-foot derrick, injuring his back; two vertebraes were broken and although skilled surgeons were called to perform the operation which was hoped would prove beneficial it did not relieve the paralysis below the point of injury and after about six months of steady decline he died in Casper hospital, Casper, Wyoming, Nov. 23rd, 1921.
His body was brought to Antelope and load to rest in the Lutheran cemetery in that village. Rev. Sands conducted the services.
Charles Vernon Deither was born February 18, 1877, at Wabasha, Minnesota.
He came west to Grafton, N.D., with is parents and in 1898 came to Montana, where he resided until about a year and a half ago when he moved to Spokane and last spring he went to Casper, Wyo., to do carpenter work for an oil company, where he met with the fatal accident.
About fourteen years ago he married Frances Folsom and to this union was born a son, Preston. Besides his wife and son, he leaves to mourn his loss four brothers: Walter of Wyomin, Grover and George of Minnesota, Wilton of Spokane and three sisters: Mrs. Mary Hedges of Antelope, Mrs. Frank Hedges of Plentywood and Mrs. Geo. Young of California.
